Terms of Service

1. Using Nooklet

Nooklet is a fantasy-character and illustrated-story creation service. Adult content is not allowed. You may use Nooklet only for lawful purposes and must follow the Content Policy below. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or attempt to evade our safety systems.

2. Your account

You may sign in through Patreon, Google, Facebook, or an email magic link. Your use of those sign-in services is also subject to the provider's terms and privacy policy. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your login secure. One person per account; don't share credentials. We may suspend or terminate accounts that break these terms.

3. Credits, purchases & refunds

Credits are the in-app currency for generating images, voice, and motion. Member credits are granted monthly through your Patreon tier and reset each cycle; purchased credits (bought via Stripe) never expire. New accounts receive a one-time 100-credit welcome grant. Welcome credits have no cash value, are not refundable, and may be replaced by the monthly allotment when a Patreon membership begins. Credits are not money, carry no cash value, and aren't redeemable for cash. Purchased credits are non-refundable once they've been spent on a generation. If you haven't used them, contact us and we'll refund the unused balance to your original payment method. Refunds cover unspent credits only, since generated content can't be un-made. Failed generations are not charged. A request that is blocked by our safety systems receives a full credit refund for that request. Member credits granted through Patreon are handled under Patreon's own terms.

4. Gallery trial & membership

New accounts receive temporary Gallery access for 24 hours from account creation. After that trial expires, an active Nooklet Patreon membership is required to browse shared Gallery content. Trial access does not grant paid-tier benefits such as monthly credits or free watermark removal.

5. Your content & ownership

You own the prompts you write and, as between you and us, the images, audio, and video you generate, subject to these terms and the rights of any third-party models involved. You grant us a limited license to store, process, and display your content solely to operate and provide the service (for example, hosting your stories so you can return to them). If you choose to share a Story or Character in the Gallery, that license also allows us to display it to Gallery members until you unshare or delete it. Sharing a Character additionally gives Gallery members permission to create and optionally share their own non-commercial Stories using an independent copy of that Character. Turning Gallery sharing off prevents new copies; Stories and Character copies already created may continue independently. Generated content may be watermarked. Active Creator and Studio members may remove watermarks from their own generations at no additional credit cost. You are solely responsible for how you use what you generate and for ensuring your use is lawful.

Commercial use is limited to the Studio tier. An active Studio membership grants you a license to use content you generate yourself commercially, for example by selling it or earning revenue from it (including advertising, sponsorship, or paid access to work built on it). This applies only to your own creations; it does not permit reselling, redistributing, or otherwise monetizing content generated by other members or by Nooklet. On every other tier (Supporter, Fan, Creator) and without a membership, your license is for personal, non-commercial use only: you may create, play, and share your content, but you may not sell it or otherwise earn money from it, and you may not place it where you earn ad or sponsorship revenue. The license that applies is the one for your tier at the time you use the content; if your Studio membership ends, the commercial license ends with it. All use remains subject to the rights of any third-party models involved.

6. Content Policy: prohibited content & conduct

You must not use Nooklet to create, upload, or request:

• Adult content, including nudity or exposed intimate anatomy, visible nipples, genitals or buttocks, and see-through clothing that reveals them.
• Sexual acts, simulated sexual acts, sexually suggestive poses, explicit sexual dialogue, erotic roleplay, or content intended primarily for sexual gratification.
• Fetish content, erotic audio, intimate sound effects, transparent clothing that exposes intimate anatomy, and pornographic or voyeuristic framing are prohibited. Ordinary fashion, swimwear, and nonsexual romance remain allowed when they are not presented for sexual gratification.
• Any sexualized content involving a minor, a young-looking person, or a person whose age is unclear, whether real, fictional, illustrated, or AI-generated. This is never allowed and may result in immediate account termination and reports to appropriate authorities where required.
• Sexual or intimate depictions of real, identifiable people without their consent, including “deepfakes” and digital forgeries.
• Sexual violence, forced or non-consensual sexual acts, sexualized torture or abuse, trafficking, exploitation, or sexual content involving animals.
• Extreme graphic violence or gore, including torture, mutilation, sadistic cruelty, or content that celebrates severe real-world suffering. Ordinary fictional action or non-graphic fantasy conflict is not prohibited by this rule.
• Content that promotes racial discrimination, hatred, dehumanization, exclusion, or violence against people based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, or another protected characteristic. Depicting discrimination in a story is not itself prohibited when the work does not endorse or promote it.
• Content that praises or recruits for violent extremist organizations, makes credible threats, instructs serious violent wrongdoing, or encourages suicide or self-harm.
• Content that infringes someone else's copyright, trademark, or other rights.
• Anything illegal where you or your audience are located.

Nooklet offers two content ratings. U (Universal) is suitable for a broad audience. M (Dramatic Fantasy) may include non-graphic fantasy combat, horror, peril, or dark themes. Both ratings remain subject to this Content Policy.

Don't attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, resell, overload, or interfere with the service. We may remove content and suspend or ban accounts that break these rules, with or without notice.

7. Safety enforcement & reports

We use automated moderation on prompts and generated images. A request may be blocked before generation, and generated media must pass moderation before it is delivered, saved to your account, or shown in the Gallery. If a safety check is unavailable or uncertain, we fail closed and do not release the output.

Blocked media may be deleted immediately or placed in access-restricted quarantine for safety review and then deleted. A safety block refunds the credits reserved for that request. Attempts to evade safety systems, including obfuscated prompts or repeated prohibited requests, may lead to rate limits, suspension, or termination.

Gallery members can report prohibited content or other violations. Reports are confidential: we do not show the creator who submitted a report. Reported content may be hidden while reviewed. If you simply dislike an image or find it uncomfortable, use “Hide for me”; personal preference actions affect only your own Gallery and do not count against the creator.

False, coordinated, retaliatory, or abusive reports are prohibited. To appeal a content restriction or report a moderation mistake, email info@nooklet.ai with the relevant Story or Character link and an explanation.

8. Copyright & DMCA

We respect intellectual property rights. If you believe content on Nooklet infringes your copyright, email info@nooklet.ai with: identification of the work, the location of the infringing material, your contact details, a good-faith statement, and your signature. We remove infringing material and terminate repeat infringers.

9. AI-generated output

Images, voice, and motion are produced by AI models and third-party generation providers. We make no guarantee about the originality, accuracy, or fitness of any output, or that it won't resemble existing works or people. Outputs may vary and may contain artifacts. You're responsible for reviewing what you generate before relying on or sharing it.

10. Service availability & changes

Nooklet is provided “as is” and depends on third-party providers, so it may occasionally be unavailable, and features may change. We may update these terms; material changes take effect when we post the updated date above, and continued use means you accept them.

11. Disclaimers & liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Nooklet is provided without warranties of any kind, and we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for lost data or content. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim arose. Some jurisdictions don't allow these limits, so parts may not apply to you.

12. Termination

You can stop using Nooklet and request deletion of your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access for any violation of these terms. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (ownership, disclaimers, liability) continue to apply.

13. Model source offer (FAIPL 1.0-SD)

Nooklet makes an adapted AI model available for network interaction under the Free AI and Public License 1.0-SD. If you interact with that model through Nooklet, you may request its corresponding source code, including Nooklet's modifications, by emailing info@nooklet.ai. Please write “FAIPL model source request” in the subject line.
